Stratford upon Avon and District Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent service providing free, confidential and impartial advice and information on a wide range of subjects to everybody regardless of race, sex, disability, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, religion, belief or age.
We offer a range of services, from providing information and directing people to the best source of help for their issue, through general advice from a trained adviser, to specialist debt and housing work from one of our specialists.
We can work with you to sort out debt worries and to find out what benefits you may be entitled to. We can help with housing and employment problems, or deal with queries about consumer issues. We can help you seek advice on legal, family, personal and immigration matters, as well as answer questions about many other issues.
Advisers don't tell clients what to do, but explain their options and the possible outcomes of different courses of action. Clients are encouraged to make their own decisions and act on their own behalf. We enable clients to manage their own problems by focusing on their needs as individuals.
In addition to the generalist advice service running from our town centre bureau in Meer Street we also have outreach sessions in Alcester, Bidford, Lighthorne Heath, Shipston, Southam, Studley and Wellesbourne. We also have a new outreach service at Stratford-upon-Avon Civic Hall for anyone who is affected by Multiple Sclerosis. This service is supported by The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
To find out about using these services please visit the advice page.
We are a member of the national Citizens Advice Service, which provides the extensive information system we use to advise clients and sets standards for advice, training, equal opportunities and accessibility in the bureau.
